Ambassadors

Lack of resources, isolation, and burn out should never be a reason for failure – especially for youth who envision a better planet and who have the ambition to make it a reality.

CoalitionWILD Ambassadors are guided through an intensive 9-month capacity building program to facilitate their leadership growth and expand their practical skills, culminating with a requirement for each Ambassador to implement a passion-driven initiative of their own design and development. Participants that complete the requirements of the program will receive an official Certificate of Completion.

Applications for the 2019 Ambassador Cohort are now open.

Apply by 30 April 2019. Must be 35 years or younger by 1 June 2019. Please refer to the program FAQ.

“When I first started out, I had a feeling that I was venturing into a world unknown.

I thought it would be difficult working with people I have never met before, and that the expectations on me would be too high. I had an idea but was not sure how to get it started.”

about the program

The CoalitionWILD Ambassador Program is a rigorous 9-month leadership development program offered at no charge. At the completion of each yearly session, participants of the program have the skills, knowledge, and confidence to develop, organize, and facilitate personal action projects in their communities – generating real, on-the-ground change. Each cohort gains access to an online database of resources, toolkits, and best practices to guide participants on their learning journey. Over the course of the program, monthly webinars are offered and recorded on a host of topics delivered by VIP Guest Speakers giving firsthand knowledge and expertise. In addition, each CoalitionWILD Ambassador is paired with a peer mentor for the course of the program, who acts as a support, advocate, advisor, and new connection.

By the end of the program, Ambassadors will have the know-how – as well as the encouragement and support – to effectively:

  • Envision a solution to a challenge they are passionate about
  • Develop an action plan, strategy, and timeline for carrying out that vision
  • Communicate their project to others
  • Identify, recruit, and engage volunteers, participants, members, or supporters
  • Develop a budget and/or fundraising plan (if necessary)
  • Set specific, measurable, and attainable goals
  • Execute strategy and tactics
  • Take their original vision and turn it into action!

Invest in today's emerging leaders, and tomorrow's decision-makers.

Support the ideas, visions, and ambition of youth environmentalists around the world taking action in their communities for the planet. Your investment ensures youth on the edge of making a difference have access to the tools, resources, and encouragement they need to reach their full potential.

frequently asked questions

Q: What are the dates of the program?
A: The program runs for 9 months, from 13 June 2019 until 28 February 2020. However, once you complete the Ambassador Program, you are a CoalitionWILD Ambassador for life!

Q: What are the criteria for me to apply to the program?
A: To be able to apply to the program, you must be 35 years of age or younger on 1 June 2019, you must be able to commit to the requirements and expectations of the program (as noted in the application), and you must have access to internet throughout the program as the program takes place virtually. Because the program is offered in English, you must have working knowledge and communication abilities of the English language.

Q: How do I know if my application was received?
A: After hitting ‘SUBMIT,’ you should be redirected to a new webpage confirming your submission. If you were not redirected, we did not receive your application.
NOTE: We suggest completing your application in a Word Document prior to submitting, and then using copy/paste to input your answers. This ensures you do not lose your application responses in case your submission fails to go through.

Q: How is the program delivered? What if I don’t have consistent internet connection?
A: The CoalitionWILD Ambassador Program is a virtual experience. All communication will happen virtually, via email, online communications platforms, and WhatsApp. All documents and resources are available online and you will have access to them once accepted to the program. Webinars take place at the same time each month, however if you are unable to attend the webinar ‘live,’ they will be recorded for you to watch at a later date. Assignments and other collateral asked for is submitted via uploading to a personal online folder or via email.

Q: Does this cost anything?
A: Nope! It only costs you your time and commitment. However, if you are able to support this program monetarily, we appreciate donations via this link (and your donation is tax deductible!)

Q: How much of a time commitment will this be?
A: There are no requirements for how much time you commit to this program, but we anticipate that webinars, monthly tasks, and communications will be between 2-4 hours each month. This is in addition to the time it takes for you to design, develop, and implement your action project within the 9-month program.

Q: What type of action project do I need to create?
A: We can’t answer this for you. The action project should be based on something you are passionate about, should address a challenge you or your community faces, and should focus on creating a better future for the planet. Your application can focus on an idea you want to develop or if you have a project you are already working on, you can explain how you envision scaling it up.

Q: What if I do not complete all of the required expectations for the program?
A: Participants who complete the required expectations will receive an official CoalitionWILD Ambassador Program Certificate of Completion. If you are unable to or do not complete all requirements, you will not receive a Certificate of Completion.
