Between now and October, 2013, when the world gathers in Salamanca, Spain at the 10th World Wilderness Congress (WILD10), let’s help each other build our ideas into reality and create a wilder world.
We know we need to protect nature. It’s what sustains all life on this planet.
While the threats facing our planet are almost too many to count, hope is not lost. There are seven billion of us – each with a passion; each with a skill set. And when we each do our part, when we do one good thing, anything is possible.
The CoalitionWILD movement to create a wilder world will launch at the 10th World Wilderness Congress (WILD10) in Salamanca, Spain from October 4-10, 2013.
Meet other change-making CoalitionWILD members from around the world in Spain and take advantage of every opportunity to develop your personal and professional leadership skills.
Join us for the launch in Spain and take part in WILD10. If you can’t join us in person, catch the Congress on-line thru WILD10 EnVivo.
Limited scholarships for CoalitionWILD members are available for individuals interested in attending WILD10. Click Here To Learn More. The scholarship application deadline is July 31, 2013. Register to attend WILD10 HERE.
A partnership between The WILD Foundation, The Murie Center and Simon Jackson, founder of the Spirit Bear Youth Coalition, CoalitionWILD is a movement of people under 30 to create a wilder world. The initiative inspires and empowers young people by providing a social media platform for innovative ideas, on-the-ground projects, activities and events, while focusing attention on the power of younger generations to initiate change. We look forward to creating excitement around change-making efforts around the world.
The Spirit Bear Youth Coalition - founded by then 13-year-old, Time Magazine Hero for the Planet Simon Jackson - is the largest youth-led environmental initiative in the world, with a network of more than six million in 85 countries. Having helped establish the largest land protection measure in Canadian history in pursuit of saving the endangered Kermode or spirit bear, Simon and the Youth Coalition are now working to empower the youth who gave this bear a voice and enable them to lead the issues that fuel their passion through CoalitionWILD.
As the heart of the global wilderness conservation movement, The WILD Foundation is the only international organization dedicated entirely to protecting wilderness and wild-nature around the world. As founders and coordinators of the World Wilderness Congress, The WILD Foundation strives to get more young people involved in making the world a wilder place through CoalitionWILD.
Through the inspiring legacy of the Murie family, The Murie Center brings people together to inspire action that preserves nature. The Murie Center’s inclusive approach recognizes that the preservation of wildness is in the interest of all people. Through Coalition WILD, The Murie Center inspires innovative and passionate leadership among younger generations from its home in Grand Teton National Park in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, USA.
